Don Alan has solutions to get your products on the WEB quickly and effectively.
At Don Alan WEB enabled means a lot more than just having a web interface for configuring the product. Most of our WEB enabled systems log data and status to a server in the cloud that you and your customers can access from anywhere.
In most cases the products we design for our customers merely need any normal internet access connection. It does not need a public IP address or a connection allowing incoming connections – it is unlikely that your customers will have to get their IP department involved in setup. This is because the product makes outgoing http connections (just like you do when you use a web browser) and uses these requests to push data to a server that is accessible from any internet point.
While in the past internet connectivity generally meant a significant step in cost, robustness and power consumption for an industrial controller we have developed our own protocol stack and data systems specifically for small industrial, commercial and consumer systems. Our WEB enabled products are not lumbered or restricted by operating systems (as good as Linux, FreeBSD, Windows CE might be in a general sense). This gives our customers systems that
- are accessible from anywhere without public IP addresses,
- are extremely rugged and reliable,
- can cost tens of dollars,
- use little power,
- provide true industrial real time performance, and
- have virtually no ‘boot up’ time.
Being strong in the fundamentals of the designs of such systems we can provide excellent solutions to unusual requirements. An example of this is when logging from a mobile device we generally use a protocol we have developed using UDP. It flows over the normally mobile internet connections but uses about a quarter of the data of TCP/IP and is much quicker.
